Guest speaker at Screendance Landscapes Venice

Invited to present the paper 'Screendance as an embodied research method' and facilitate a roundtable at the Screendance Landscapes symposium at the University of Venice. IT.

The Italian cultural association VeNe and the international collective future mellon/not yet art in partnership with Iuav -Teatro e Arti Performative organize the international symposium [Screendance Landscapes - due giorni su danza e schermo]. Invited academics and researchers from the fields of Dance, Screendance, and Intermedial and Digital Arts will discuss major theoretical issues that appertain to the field. A master-class with the independent artist and filmmaker Cosimo Terlizzi and a series of screenings will provide insights into the hybrid practice of screendance. Furthermore, international artists, curators and producers will have the chance to discuss and exchange their perspectives on the practice of the hybrid audio-visual form and its curation. The project is supported by the Theatre and Performing Arts Program - IUAV (IT), Sale Docks (IT), Roehampton University (UK) and ESSEREDANZA (IT). It is realized in collaboration with International Video Dance Festival of Burgundy(FR), Lago Film Fest(IT), Dance On Screen (AT), Athens Video Dance Project(GR) and DanzaArchivio ViSI (IT). Guest speakers include: Stefano Tomassini (IT), Enrico Pitozzi (IT), Cosimo Terlizzi (IT), Heike Salzer (UK/DE), Marisa Hayes/Marmotte C'estMoi (FR), Franck Boulègue (FR), Marisa Zanotti (UK), Katja Vaghi(CH/DE), Ariadne Mikou (GR/IT). Furthermore, the British choreographer Gaby Agis, will be with us for presenting two of her works: the short film 'Minus 24' (2016), in memory of the British choreographer Rosemary Butcher and 'Free Fall '(1988). The roundtable will be coordinated by Heike Salzer and introduced by Blas Payri with his paper |A Study on 248 Screendance Festivals. Goals, Organization, Geographic and Temporal Distribution|. The conversation will also include a short presentation of Athens Video Dance Project.
